How to Discipline Your Child Effectively?
By Mommy Phebie on 19th April, 2009 | 8 Comments
This is the fourth session of our parenting class in our church. As parents, which one of you here are you using in disciplining your child/children?
1.PERMISSIVE- this are fearful parents.
- They give HIGH LOVE to their children but give LOW DISCIPLINE.
2.NEGLECTFUL- this are forsaking parents.
- Also known as passive parents or lukewarm parents. Children feel being abandoned or strange having no intimacy bonding and respect towards parents and vice versa.
- They give LOW LOVE and LOW DISCIPLINE.
3.AUTHORITARIAN- this are fighting parents.
- They produce rebellion children.
- They give LOW LOVE but a HIGH DISCIPLINE.
4.AUTHORITATIVE- this are fellowshipping parents.
- They are in control with discipline. They have time to bond and balances discipline to their children.
- They give HIGH LOVE and at the same time HIGH DISCIPLINE!
The balanced, authoritative parent who combines high levels of support with high levels of control typically produced children with high self-esteem, good coping skills, and a positive relationship with parents.
